Our client, who runs an oil field operation in the Middle East, discovered that one of their butterfly valves had corroded to the point that it would not perform safely. They had planned a shutdown for two months—but any delay beyond that would cost their company tens of thousands of dollars per hour.

Drawing on our expertise in nickel plating large-scale components, we knew we could resurface this 48” diameter valve and get our client’s operation up and running again.

After inspecting the valve, we determined that the center bore needed to be masked and the seating surface required electroless nickel plating to add .0035” in thickness. In less than one week, we resurfaced the valve, carefully packaged it in a certified insect-free crate and shipped it directly to the client’s oil field.
